Allietare #6

I have to say Bonnie fooled me posting the reveal..I thought for sure we would be doing more cutting...or another Clue at the very least..

Here's what I have so far for #6, quilt #1 which is my BIL's quilt...Tom..with the nice smile...and yes, that's a Patriots toothbrush!..We are all Patriots fanatics in this family.

I was going to fussy cut the center blocks until I read Briony on the FB Open Studio mention string blocks...That got my attention..I Love strings and I Love making them even more!..So, Thank you very much Briony Bullard.

Linking up with Bonnie's Linky Party.

I'm very anxious to see what my colors will look like in these blocks!...

Have you seen all the Mystery tops that are Completed?!
On FB Open Studio, you can see them posted. Yes, I typed completed!!!

Your blocks are just beautiful and you've definitely started a trend in Quiltvillechat! So sorry that the Patriots lost this afternoon to the Dolphins, we are Patsy fans, too.

Love your string block centers. It is going to be a beautiful quilt. I was so surprised too, thought for sure we had a couple more clues. I have worked like mad the last few days to get the center made, no borders yet.

like the strings a lot! Got more completed by the reveal than I ever have before but still have some blocks to do to finish the middle. Love this quilt!

Lovely result so far. Well done in keeping up with the mystery. Thanks for passing on the tip about using strings for the large pieces.

She fooled me too! Great idea to make strings blocks in the centers!

I thought there would be more clues, too! Looks like she fooled a lot of people. Your string centers are great!

Bonnie always keeps us guessing. We needed all the extra fabrics to make the Mystery go on-point. I never thought of pieced centers. I was amazed how many Completed tops there are already. I must be old, I like my sleep. Too many Boo boo's when I try to sew all night.
Nice to see who gets this quilt. My DH likes the colors, who knew? I make quilts and find it hard to give them away. They are part of my story.

Really like your string centers! What is your second colorway? Sure like the one you have showed us. I am a patriots fan from San Diego. My whole family is from Maine/Mass. If the Chargers desert San Diego, The Patriots and Mariners will be my only 2 teams:)

What a great idea to string piece the center. The center becomes more live. Beautiful quilt.

Beautiful blocks! Bonnie outdid herself this year. Kept us guessing, and designed a wonderful pattern.

Love your string centers. Scrap quilts are the most interesting quilts, I think. Good luck!

Thanks so much for visiting and leaving a comment. I figured there were some that won't comment, I too am not big at leaving comments. I'm so happy to know that you do visit and enjoy reading my posts. I told myself if even just one person enjoyed it then it would be a good excuse to keep on, so I think I will! And, by the way, I LOVE string piecing, and think it looks amazing in the center of the blocks. Good job! You do a nice job, I can't wait to see the completed quilt! Happy new year! Julie

These are looking great with the string centers!! Will be keeping an eye on your blog to see how it finishes! Mine is a slow go as life is really busy right now. The blocks are all "up on the wall" and 3 rows are made, but not stitched together. Later rather than sooner it seems for me to get this done. Happy New Year! Mary / www.stitchinggrandma.wordpress.com
